I recently had Paint Protection Film (PPF) installed on my brand-new 2026 Tesla Model Y by P&L Automotive, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I was really worried about visible lines or edges from the film showing up, especially on a sleek car like the Model Y, but I was pleasantly surprised—the installation was absolutely flawless. The film fits perfectly, with no noticeable seams or imperfections anywhere. I did a ton of research beforehand and chose P&L because they use Llumar PPF. From everything I read, Llumar stood out as a superior option compared to many alternatives, including the film Tesla offers through their official service. (Tesla's version lacks that top-layer finishing coat that Llumar has, which helps with better durability, hydrophobicity, and overall protection.) Each PPF brand and installer has their strengths, but for my needs—maximum protection without compromising the car's appearance—Llumar through P&L was the clear winner. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and delivered exactly what I hoped for. If you're considering PPF for your Tesla (or any vehicle) in the Twin Cities area, P&L is a top choice. I’ve had PPF installed on two vehicles here (one 3M and one Llumar). Both have been quality jobs. My vehicle with 3M wrap was done in 2020 and now in 2022, some issues with the adhesive on the bumper piece appeared. 3M thought it was damage from rocks and not a warranty claim. P&L examine the vehicle and agreed with me that the piece was defective. They ended up replacing the defective piece at no cost to me.

I recently purchased a 2022 ford bronco and it was subcontracted through p and l automotive. I had the PPF film and rust protection done. I would say the film application was just good nothing special it isn’t fully sealed along where it was applied and I had to get it fixed and drive 40 minutes to there shop. The fix was all of five minutes you would say wow that’s awesome quick and fast, I looked at it and all they did where it was peeling was cut it off….hmmm I could of saved myself 40 minutes each way and done that myself. So in reality is it really fixed nahhh. I also paid for the front bumper but it was never done as well so double negatives. Lastly we arrive on the rust protection….what a sloppy job that was done, put it on super heavy and it was caking up where it was done so. Also not to mention the over spray residue that was on my brand new car like come on. Needless to say not happy.

My new car was not technically ceramic coated. They use a lesser product in Auto Armor that goes on like a foamy car wash. Which is not ceramic coat. The PPF was from a kit and not in bulk. Which means the edges aren't folded under. Instead they come up short and will collect dirt and other debris over time. Not to mention it's not uniform and even. Take it from someone that used to do this for a living, this is sub par work and an even worse product. Have it done right and take it to real professionals that actually use "ceramic coat". This was purchased by me through a dealership and was a huge mistake. Now I have to have it corrected.

P&L automotive is a best in class supplier for rust proofing, noise reduction, paint protection, and window tinting. My wife bought a new car a year ago and I just bought a car. P&L provided the service for both vehicles and did a spectacular job on each. They're very well qualified for what they do and they charge reasonable prices, especially when you start comparing it to dealerships and other vendors. Give them a try, you'll be happy you did. The front staff at the desk is very personable, does a great job explaining what is involved with any of the processes and a pleasure to work with. I think her name was Linda. I just had paint sealant, rustproofing, undercoating and window tinting done on my new Pilot. My car was picked up at my home in the morning and returned by early afternoon. I was given detailed instructions on how to care for my car over the next couple days. The interior of my vehicle was even cleaned which was not part of my service package. This company went above and beyond. I highly recommend them!!

Do not get work done here, especially on exterior, if you don’t have a brand new car. I bought a used Highlander, only 2 years old, from Walser who has a partnership with P&L, and all either company cares about is selling add-ons. It’s up to you to think of every possible question and scenario to protect yourself. I was focused on the extra warranty I purchased, and wasn’t thinking I would have any issues purchasing the Scotchgard protection for the hood of my car. They make a big deal that bubbles after a few weeks are not normal and have you call back in a month if you see them, which I did, but they had me wait one more month. I still had bubbles, called back, and they had me bring it in. They called me and told me these bubbles weren’t fixable, they were because of previous chips and touch-up paint because my car was used, and that I would have to live with it like that. My car looks perpetually dirty now because of this so I told them to take it off and reimburse me for that part of my service, but of course, they refused. I spoke to Kylene, the service manager, and I asked why someone didn’t tell me this was a possibility? She said it isn’t possible to catch every single nick. Ok. Then, she proceeds to tell me they have used some sort of crayon-type material in the past with touch-up paint that doesn’t make the nicks look perfect but better, and I said to go ahead and do it, and then she said there might be an extra charge to do that because they would have to take the Scotchgard off to redo it and she said she wasn’t sure if it was something they would even do because there were so many little dings. Umm, so which is it? You can’t possibly catch every nick or there are too many nicks to do it? This is exactly why I can’t stand salespeople. They do not give you the full story until after you make the purchase, and they just cross their fingers hoping you’ll just get tired of arguing and go away. So moral of this story, if you don’t have a brand new vehicle with absolutely no dings, do NOT get Scotchgard, you’ll regret it. And do you really want to work with people who are shady like this?

Went to get my Tacoma serviced for Inner Rustproofing, Undercoating, Paint Sealant and interior as well and I gotta say, I’m very impressed by how it turned out! It made my car like brand new again from everything, especially the smell that if which is like a new car Definitely worth it and would highly recommend anyone to come visit here for any service needed!

Courteous, efficient. My vehicle received interior protection, paint protection, and undercoating. I was told the odor from the curing of the undercoating would go away in 3 to 5 days. After 5 days I put it in the garage overnight. In the morning, the entire house reeked and much worse in the garage. The second car had to be aired out in the cold to drive it. I kept the vehicle outside until last night (10 days after treatment) and it still stinks up the garage and the other car. Not as bad, but still pretty strong. Very disappointing. I'm not sure if it will ever go away entirely. I would never get the undercoating again and it's obviously too late to do anything about it now. Wish I would have been told this ahead of time.

The quality of their products is very good and I’ve been happy with everything they’ve done on multiple vehiclesz Scheduling was easy and they give you a curtesy car. Only took a couple of days to have my car back. The only reason I give them a 4 out of 5 is because I had a really frustrating customer service experience between them and my car dealership. I purchased their full paint protection wrap through the dealer which was rather expensive. When I got the car to P&L we discovered that a good portion on the front had already been wrapped by the previous owner. At first I was told they could remove it and apply their product which I was fine with. But then later I was informed that they couldn’t. Since they were only able to partially wrap the car I was/should have been entitled to some level of “discount”. Getting this figured out was an absolute headache. Both my dealer and P&L said they were working together to figure it out but when I asked for updates, they each pointed the figures at each other which was super frustrating. After 4 months of this, many phone calls and trips to both locations, I finally received my “discount” which was about $300 off a $2,000 package…. Given they weren’t able to do around 40% of what was included in the package, this didn’t feel fair or right to me but at that point I was too frustrated to do any more about it. Again the product is really good and much of the service issue I had was due to an odd situation and on the dealer as much as it was P&L which is why I still give them 4 stars. My advice to P&L. you and my dealer touted your relationship and how you were going to take care of me when I purchased the car. Your owner was even visiting dealership at the time and helped sell me on the “titanium wrap package”. But then with this odd situation, instead of working together to find a reasonable solution, you made it my problem to figure out and we’re both pointing fingers at each other. It felt like i was dealing with two children and it really ruined my experience of working with both of you. I don’t know if I will use either one of you with my next vehicle purchase as a result.

Brought my new ford lighting in to get paint sealant and P&L did an excellent job. I would recommend them to anyone.

They partnered with the dealership where I got my new vehicle from for paint sealant, rust proofing and a few other services. Good communication. Very fast service! Only con was the strong smell of the treatments after the service but they did warn me about it and it should go away in a few days.

P & L did a fantastic job on my Santa Cruz truck, inner rustproof, undercoating, paint sealant and interior protection. They also installed the paint protection film on the hood, bumper, mirrors and for edges. Just like it came off the showroom floor, only much better protected now! I highly recommend them for your vehicle's protection.

P&L Automotive applied the paint protection film, rust proofing, paint sealant and interior protection products on the last three new vehicles I purchased. These helped greatly in keeping my vehicles in better than average condition, with normal cleaning and maintenance. I’ll bring any vehicle I purchase moving forward to P&L.

Customer service is key. I had paint protection and Protective Film applied to a new vehicle. Concierge service where they sent a driver and loaner car to me and had my car done in one day was a great convenience. A couple of issues with the protective film and water stains after application, but the company was able to accommodate my schedule right away and took care of it. Even had the owner work to take care of my issues. All around, a good customer service experience. I only wished I'd gone directly to them rather than the dealership.
